The Israeli government is paying to Israel to bring 16 MAGA social media influencers with millions of followers to Israel to prevent American youth from taking a stand against Tel Aviv on Gaza.
According to the news in Consortium News, the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs will spend $86,000 for 16 Americans to visit Israel.
The purpose of this visit is to “create a more positive image” of Israel by using the broad online influence of these people.
According to the news, this initiative is being carried out in response to an important transformation against Israel, especially among Western youth.
According to the Israeli newspaper Haaretz, Israeli Foreign Ministry officials state that “the tour provides significant media, advocacy and diplomatic benefits, and that traditional promotional activities are no longer sufficient to shape public opinion, a strategic change.”
Officials aim to strengthen Israel's position in the US by using the wide following of young social media influencers.
According to the newspaper, Americans whose names have not been disclosed belong to the “MAGA” and “America First” movements.
They are all under 30 years old and each has hundreds of thousands or millions of followers, meaning they have a large and rich target audience for propaganda. The ministry announced that Israel plans to bring more than 500 "influencer delegations" to Israel this year.
The ministry is paying an organization called Israel365 to organize its first American tour, because it is “in a unique position to convey a pro-Israel stance that is fully compatible with the agenda of MAGA and America First.”
Israel365's website states that the group "defends the Jewish people's right without regret over all the territory of Israel given by God," describes the two-state solution as "dream" and "defends Western civilization against progressive left extremism and the threats of global jihad".
Israeli officials justify the non-tender contract with this organization by “the experience and knowledge of raising awareness, participation and mobilization of the Christian masses in support of the Jewish people and the State of Israel”.
“While older Republicans and American conservatives still have pro-Israel views, the positive outlook on Israel is dimining in all young age groups,” ministry officials told the newspaper.
Haaretz said, “The strategy seems to work. During the 12-day clash with Iran last month, Israel's digital messages were viewed about 1.8 billion times with the contribution of social media influencers with millions of followers. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs aims to invite 550 influencer delegations to Israel by the end of 2025 to continue these promotional activities," he says.
The State Department chose Israel365 because it was “very important for Israel that the Movement Adopts a pro-Israel stance with the Rise of America First and MAGA in American politics.”
The State Department document states that Israel365 “has the ability to seamlessly connect the spiritual/Biblical and geopolitical aspects of support for Israel.”
